i-City adds vibrancy to property fairTHE StarProperty.my Fair i-City Edition will see a new partnership between i-City and StarProperty.my taking off with its launch that is anticipated to give a new spin to the series of property fairs organised by StarProperty.my.

Envisioned as an ideal venue for developers to showcase their latest projects, the much-anticipated event will also give prospective buyers the chance to view the newest offerings in the market while allowing them to also experience and enjoy the latest theme park attractions at Leisure Park@i-City, which draws approximately 90,000 visitors weekly.

The StarProperty.my Fair i-City Edition will take place at i-Walk from Sept 13 to 16 (3pm to 9pm).

The coming property fair will infuse lifestyle elements such as fashion collections, interior design and activities at the i-City Leisure Park along with a showcase of property projects.

Another feature of the fair is a property auction conducted by CIMB Property Mart, which sees a selection of properties ranging from bungalows, terraced houses and apartments to condominiums, shop lots and vacant pieces of land being offered. The auction will take place on Sept 13.

“Property is very much like fashion, catering to individual lifestyles. Depending on one’s budget, we have a huge selection of properties that feature lush greenery, concept gardens within the property compound, interior design elements to fit different moods, infinity pools, top-notch fittings and more,” said StarProperty.my head of sales Janice Yeap. The fair, which is being organised by StarProperty.my, will feature projects from some of Malaysia’s top property developers like Tropicana Corporation Bhd, I-Bhd, CIMB Property Mart, Glenmarie Properties, Ken Holdings Bhd, Kuala Lumpur Metro Group, Perbadanan Kemajuan Negri Selangor Property, Golden Agro Plantation (Mukah) Bhd and more.

Home buyers can expect to be spoilt for choice with the variety of properties on display because the three-day event features the country’s top property developers and their latest projects, suitable for both first-time buyers and investors.

There will be a fashion show by two celebrity fashion designers, Calvin Thoo and Aaron Von Jolly, on September 13 and 15.

Thoo, whose regular customers include celebrities and royalty, is extremely happy to be part of the event because he believes both fashion and the way one lives projects the lifestyle of someone.

“Fashion depicts the personality of people while a home similarly, reflects a person’s character. Homes and fashion go hand in hand to tell us the identity of a person. My theme of ‘reflections of nature’ basically shows the trend of people needing to live healthier and in more environmentally-conscious ways today,” said the 41-year-old designer, who graduated from RMIT in Australia with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion in 1996.

Thoo started his career working up the ranks in retail chains like Metrojaya when he first came back from Australia. He then decided to work on his own, specialising in wedding, evening, and cocktail dresses, and formal baju kurung. The signature cut and silhouette of Thoo’s clothes has earned him a special place in the fashion industry.

For Aaron Von and Datuk Raymond Jolly, the creative forces behind the internationally recognised, homegrown label Von Jolly Couture has been promoting Malaysia internationally with their outstanding work in the world of fashion. Their theme for the coming StarProperty.my Fair i-City Edition 2014 is “Le Femme Merveille” that illustrates the significance of a marvellous woman of strong character and persona in facing the challenges of the world today. The essence of the collection includes contemporary Malaysian batik, the Chinese cheongsam and the Indian raw silk.

With such diverse cultures in Malaysia, the designs in the range highlight the importance of integration and harmony through high fashion. It is part of Von Jolly Couture’s effort to promote a harmonious Malaysia.

The Von Jollys have been dubbed the Fashion Princes of Malaysian contemporary batik by Fashion TV UK and this season’s collection certainly reflects very vividly the idea of a united Malaysia.

There will also be a talk about the essentials of interior design by interior designer Alex Lee and architect Nick Fong of Nu Infinity, an interior design and architecture company.
